What is an Anchor Point Tour?

On other tours, your entire itinerary is planned out for you, and your job is to ride between locations. An Anchor Point Tour means that hotels in key locations are reserved; the travel days in between are flexible and we get to choose where we travel and where we sleep each day. We guarantee you will have me with you every day, and we guarantee you a safety support vehicle. However, everything else is designed to be a travelers’ trip, traveling the way I like to travel.

You will be responsible for carrying all your own gear and repairing your motorcycle (of course I will help you, but I won’t do it for you). We will be traveling as if we have no support. Each day, we will decide as a group where to go and what to see, as well as where to stay. In fact, if we get to a town, you get to choose which hotel you’d like to stay in and can book your own room. In addition to myself, you will have a local guide who can assist in case there’s any difficulty.

The undetermined route of this tour means mental flexibility is essential and the correct attitude is critical. After all, “Attitude Matters!”

Duration: 14 days

Join us on a unique Anchor Point Tour, the first of its kind! This is exactly the type of tour Bret has been wanting to run for years.

What is an Anchor Point Tour?

The changing nature of the area means mental flexibility is essential and the correct attitude is critical. After all “Attitude Matters”!

Our Requirements

After running many tours, we have developed two critical requirements you must have as a rider.  These requirements are non-negotiable and will be tested upon arrival to ensure your safety and the safety of the group:

1.  You must be able to make a u-turn (left AND right) within 16′ (5m) apart.  Failure to make a tight left or right turn will result in you running wide and finding yourself head on with traffic.

2.  You must be able to maintain a speed of 30mph (48kph) on maintained gravel roads.  We will be traveling through some very remote regions and failure to keep a minimum speed means we will not reach our hotel… or any hotel… by nightfall.

The rest we can work with.  Please keep a humble attitude and recognize that Bret might make decisions for you, based solely on your riding ability, given his 28 years of training motorcyclists as a full time career.
