CHALLENGE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Many riders come to us with decades of experience using their preferred riding gear without incident. However, structured training environments introduce challenges that everyday riding rarely does. In our courses, you’ll be practicing new skills, riding in varied terrain, and pushing outside your usual comfort zone.

Because of this, the likelihood of low-speed drops or momentary loss of balance is higher than on a typical trail or weekend ride. Purpose-built off-road gear is designed specifically for these scenarios. It it more likely to provide the protection needed to learn safely and effectively.

We also want to be clear that these requirements aren’t about insisting on top-of-the-line gear for a sport that you are not ready to invest all your money into. Many affordable options meet the standard, and if you can’t find anything then please email Bret. Our goal is simply to ensure that every rider has gear suited for the type of training we’re doing so you can participate fully, confidently, and safely.

Additionally, our insurance and risk-management standards require us to ensure that all participants use gear appropriate for off-road training. This helps protect you, our instructors, and the program itself. Our goal is not to question anyone’s experience, only to create the safest, most productive learning environment possible.
