ADV TRAINING WITH BRET TKACS

Gear Requirements

What you wear matters. These requirements exist to protect you during structured training — where low-speed drops happen more often than on a typical trail ride.

Many riders come to us with decades of experience using their preferred gear without incident. Structured training environments introduce challenges that everyday riding rarely does. In our courses, you will be practicing new skills, riding in varied terrain, and pushing outside your usual comfort zone. Because of this, the likelihood of low-speed drops or momentary loss of balance is higher than on a typical trail or weekend ride.

These requirements are not about insisting on top-of-the-line gear. Many affordable options meet the standard. If you cannot find anything that works, email Bret directly and he will point you in the right direction. Our goal is simply to ensure every rider has gear suited to the type of training we are doing so you can participate fully, confidently, and safely.

Additionally, you can use our custom chat icon to discuss boots. All information is drawn directly from the brains of Bret Tkacs and Brian Price (Atomic Moto).
